Online Stopwatch

This is a free online stopwatch that starts the moment you hit Start and records laps at ten millisecond resolution. It runs entirely in your browser, so there is nothing to install and no account to create.

Sound

Tanawing tunog Sky
Tanawing tunogSky

Unti-unting tumatahimik nang walang chime. Hiwalay ang mga alarm ng timer. Maaaring huminto ang tunog kapag naka-lock ang device.

Space starts and stops. L records a lap. R resets.

A stopwatch that still counts right when you are not looking

This stopwatch does not just add up ticks — it saves the moment you hit Start and reads the difference against your device clock on every frame. That distinction matters, because browsers slow down timers running in a tab you are not looking at. A stopwatch that only counts its own ticks starts losing time the moment you switch away; this one does not, because it is always checking the real clock instead of counting to itself.

Switch tabs, lock your phone, come back after a meeting, and the time is still exactly right. The readout runs HH:MM:SS.cs, refreshed every ten milliseconds, in tabular figures so the digits do not jump around as they change.

Laps, splits, and your running total

Hit Lap, or press L, to mark a split without stopping the clock. Each row shows the split — the time since your last lap — right next to the running total, which is exactly what you need when you are timing intervals, sets, or the same drill run after run.

Every lap stays on the list until you reset, and you can copy the whole thing as plain text straight into a notes app or a spreadsheet. The keyboard is the fastest way to run it: Space starts and pauses, L records a lap, R resets, and Esc cancels a reset you did not mean to start. Every shortcut is also a real on-screen button, so it works the same way with a screen reader or a switch device.

Everything stays on your device

This stopwatch runs entirely in your browser. Your start time, your accumulated milliseconds, and your lap list are saved to local storage on your own device, under one key — so closing the tab by accident or reloading the page does not wipe a stopwatch that is still running. Nothing gets uploaded, and there is no account to sign up for.

The stopwatch itself is completely free, with no cap on how long you run it and no ads interrupting you. Once you need to turn measured time into hours worked, the hours calculator takes your time in and time out and computes the total and the pay; the timesheet does the same across a full week, or for more than one person.

Questions and answers

Does the stopwatch still run if I switch tabs?

Yes. It reads the time off the system clock instead of counting its own ticks, so a background or throttled tab does not make it drift. Come back later and it has moved forward by exactly the time that passed.

How accurate is this stopwatch?

The readout updates every ten milliseconds, and the measurement itself comes from the browser's high-resolution clock underneath. Your own reaction time hitting the button is a bigger factor than anything the stopwatch adds.

What is the difference between a lap and a split?

The split is the time since your last lap; the total is the time since you hit Start. Both show up on every lap row, so you can compare one interval to another without doing the math yourself.

Can I run this with just the keyboard?

Yes. Space starts and pauses it, L records a lap, R resets, and Esc cancels a reset if you pressed it by mistake. Every shortcut has a matching on-screen button too.

Will I lose my laps if I reload the page?

No, they are saved to your browser's local storage, so a reload brings them right back. Clearing your browsing data for tauvio.com is the only thing that clears them.
