Hours Calculator
This free hours calculator totals your shifts and breaks, then shows each day's and the week's hours in decimal hours or hh:mm. Add your hourly rate to estimate gross pay, including country-based overtime.

From time in and time out to work hours
Enter a time in, a time out and an unpaid break for each day, and the hours calculator does the arithmetic the awkward way round: minutes subtract cleanly, so 8:45 to 5:20 PM with a 35-minute break is 8 hours exactly, not 8.35 of anything. Each row shows its own total, and the week totals underneath as you type.
Input is forgiving on purpose. 12-hour times with AM and PM — the everyday way Filipinos read a clock — and 24-hour times both parse, and you can mix them across rows. A shift that runs past midnight is handled as an overnight shift instead of turning into a negative duration, which is the single most common thing a general-purpose time calculator gets wrong.
Decimal hours, hh:mm, and pay
Payroll usually wants decimal hours; most people think in hours and minutes. Both are shown, and you can switch which one leads. 7 hours 45 minutes is 7.75 decimal hours, and seeing the two side by side removes the step where a 45 gets typed into a payroll field as 0.45.
Add an hourly rate — in pesos or any currency — and the calculator returns gross pay for each day and for the week. Choose a country, the Philippines included, and it applies that country's daily and weekly overtime thresholds and multiplier from the overtime rules table, so hours past the threshold get computed at the higher rate instead of being folded into the flat total. The threshold is shown next to the result, with the statute it comes from, so you can check the assumption instead of taking it on faith.
What is free, and where the timesheet takes over
Every calculation here is free: unlimited rows, unlimited recalculation, totals and pay on screen, a copy button that puts the week into your clipboard as plain text, a CSV of your own rows, and a JSON file holding everything the site keeps for you. There's no account, your numbers never leave your browser — rows are kept in local storage on your own device — and one control in the tool deletes all of it.
Entry is built for a week at a time instead of a cell at a time. A default shift you can edit fills Monday to Friday in one click, a day can be copied down the week or repeated from the day before, the week carries real dates with previous and next navigation, and a block of rows pasted from a spreadsheet fills it outright. When you need the result as a document with a fixed layout — the DTR you hand to HR or a client — or you need to keep last week alongside this week, or track several people at once, that's the timesheet, where the generated PDF and the saved-week library are the paid Tauvio Pass features. If you only want to know how long something ran, the stopwatch measures it directly.
The time calculator: clock times and hh:mm without a week
Not every question is a payroll week. Switch the tool from Work week to Time calculator, or open the page with ?mode=time, and it answers three smaller ones. The time between two times: enter a start and an end and you get the duration, with an end earlier than the start read as the next day, so 22:00 to 06:15 is 8:15 rather than a negative number. Adding or subtracting time: a clock time plus or minus an amount of hours and minutes gives the new clock time and says when it lands on the next day or the day before. Adding up durations: a list of hours and minutes, each row added or subtracted, totaled as you type, and a column pasted from a spreadsheet fills the list.
Every result is shown in hours and minutes, in decimal hours and in minutes, and times are typed the same way as in the week grid, in twelve-hour or twenty-four hour form with the clock format switch beside them. A duration can be typed as 1:30, as 1.5 or as 1 h 30 min, and a number on its own counts as hours. Clock times are positions on an ordinary day, so a span that crosses the night the clocks change isn't adjusted for the hour that moved. What you type in this mode is kept in your browser, apart from the weeks, and is included in the JSON backup and in delete all.
Questions and answers
How do I compute my work hours for the week?
Enter each day's time in, time out and unpaid break. The calculator totals each day and sums the week, showing the result in both decimal hours and hours and minutes.
How do I convert minutes into decimal hours?
Divide the minutes by 60: 45 minutes is 0.75 hours, 20 minutes is 0.33. The hours calculator shows both forms at once so you don't have to convert by hand.
How do I compute the time between two times?
Switch the tool to Time calculator and enter a start time and an end time; the duration appears in hours and minutes, decimal hours and minutes. An end time earlier than the start is read as the next day, so 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM is eight hours, in the week grid as well.
Are breaks deducted automatically?
Only the break you enter gets deducted, and it's treated as unpaid. If your break is paid, leave the field empty so it stays inside the total.
Can it compute overtime pay?
Yes. Select your country and the calculator applies that country's daily and weekly overtime thresholds and multiplier, and shows which statute the numbers come from.
Is the hours calculator free?
Yes. Totals, overtime, pay on screen, CSV export of your own rows, a JSON backup of everything and printing in any of the five templates are free with no account. The generated PDF document and saving weeks as a history are part of the paid Tauvio Pass.
