Exam Timer

This exam timer shows a big countdown for a test: pick a common length, and it loads without starting so the clock only starts once the room is ready. A notice appears at 10 and 5 minutes remaining, and the end plays once, quietly.

Built so a stray tap can't stop an exam

An exam timer's only job while it runs is to stay out of the way. The read-out is big enough to read from the front of the room, and it also shows the clock time the exam ends at — the number a supervisor can write on the board. While it runs, Pause and Reset are not shown at all; they sit one tap behind a "Pause or stop" button, so an accidental tap does nothing, and a real interruption is still just two taps away.

Common exam lengths, loaded before the room starts

Half an hour, 45 minutes, an hour, 90 minutes, two hours and three hours are one click each. Picking a length only loads it — the countdown doesn't start until Start is pressed, so the exam begins when the room is actually ready, not the moment someone picks a preset while chairs are still being arranged. Any other length can be typed in hours, minutes and seconds, and this is the same exam mode built into Tauvio's main timer.

A notice before time's up, then a quiet end

A notice appears on screen at 10 minutes remaining and again at 5, silent by default with an optional soft chime. When time is up, the chosen sound plays once, at low volume, with no repeat, and the screen makes it clear the exam is over.
