How the time left until 3 PM is worked out
This page reads the time and time zone from your device and finds the next 3 PM — later today if it has not happened yet, tomorrow if it has — then shows the hours, minutes and seconds between now and that moment, recalculated every second so a tab left open in the background is still right when you come back to it. If a time is asked without AM or PM, it counts to whichever of the two comes next, and on the night the clocks change for daylight saving it follows the real time remaining, which can be an hour more or less than the clock face suggests.
